Now, before you say anything, Big Black Dick refers to Richard (Dick) Le Noir (Black), an African boy prince captured by French slavers, tossed overboard and left for dead. He managed to swim ashore in the Caribbean, got captured by other slavers and ended up working in the cane fields. There he learnt how to turn sugar into fine rum, got himself freed, became a pirate and marauded the endless seas until he died of natural causes.
