HOW MATES RUM IS MADE

Here’s your crash course in rum. Rum is a distilled alcoholic drink made from sugar cane byproducts, such as molasses. The molasses is fermented and distilled until it becomes a clear liquid, which is then usually aged in oak barrels.

Okay, let’s not go into too much detail …

Our idea was to blend different types of naturally processed rum without sugar or other additives to come up with a golden combination. (Gold Rum)

The good news is, we’ve found it! So what’s in it?

Three to five year old rum from Barbados, a country known for its English-style rum. This rum has a delicious, authentic taste with a wonderful softness. We blend this with rum from the Dominican Republic, aged 3 to 5 years. The rum from this area is called Spanish-style rum, known for its sweeter taste. To add some funkiness and fruitiness to this combination, we’ve added a little bit of the Jamaican pot still rum. The finishing touch to our unique and exquisite rum blend!

Soon there will also be a White version.
